I've had intermittent problems where the audio gets weird, like it's playing a little too short of a buffer, but this may be a MythTV on AMD64 problem, and I've had the problem with other saa7134 cards. Here's the secret to getting sound to work: fire up aumix on the card's mixer, and fiddle with the volumes. I added this to my /etc/conf.d/local.start: aumix -d /dev/mixer2 -1 R Without this, you just get silence.
