Step(5) also calls btrfs_log_inode(), where has

        BTRFS_I(inode)->logged_trans = trans->transid;
        BTRFS_I(inode)->last_log_commit = BTRFS_I(inode)->last_sub_trans;

Won't the above make it skip step(7)'s fsync?  Haven't confirmed it though.
