I'd suggest that you don't wait and instead make a start on it,
if for nothing else than so when Chris's version does appear there
is a way to merge the best of both together.

Even if all your tool has is a friendlier interface or better
help then that'll still be a useful contribution to the effort,
and if it's got more than that then you'll have made even more
of a contribution.
