struct file *filp = fget(fd);
...
fput(filp);
That said, why not have the ioctl mutate the existing fd?
ie in userspace:
int fd = open("/mnt/btrfs");
ioctl(fd, BTRFS_IOC_STREAM);
while (...) {
read(fd, buf, 4096);
...
}
close(fd);
