Why Donate to Yosemite?

Critical to the success of the Yosemite Association are the generous donations we receive from our friends, members, and supporters each year. Individuals, families, corporations, and other entities have long supported Yosemite National Park through their financial commitments. In fact, the association came into existence to accept a grant from the Laura Spelman Rockefeller Memorial that was used to build the Yosemite Museum.

We use the donations we receive to benefit a variety of educational, research, and environmental programs in Yosemite through contributions to the National Park Service. During the year 2004 our financial support totaled $448,757.

Because the Yosemite Association is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation (Federal ID No. 94-6050143), donations to our organization often qualify for tax-deductibility to the extent allowable by law. As to the deductibility of your contribution, please consult your tax advisor. The association cannot give tax advice.

If you have any questions about donating to the Yosemite Association, please contact Laurel Rematore at (209) 379-2317 or by e-mail at: lrematore@yosemite.org.
