Ubuntu Dual Monitor (Matrox) problem

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Dear X.Org Support,

I want to enable my secondary Matrox card, which cannot be used by default. I have tried to autoconfigure an xorg.conf, which failed to work (X won't start). Here are the details:

szanto-varnagy@szantovarnagy-MS-7253:~$ lspci | grep VGA
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. K8M890CE/K8N890CE [Chrome 9] (rev 11)
04:05.0 VGA compatible controller: Matrox Graphics, Inc. MGA 1064SG [Mystique] (rev 03)

I have attached the xorg.configure.err file, which contains the error message I got after issuing "Xorg -configure". This made the other attached xorg.conf.new, which failed to work after copying to /etc/X11/xorg.conf.

Please help, how should I configure xorg.conf to be able to see my Matrox (mga) driver. I have a freshly installed Ubuntu 11.10, Thanks in advance.

Best regards,
Adam Szanto-Varnagy
