It looks like you need to fix your kernel driver. You could hack up xserver-xorg-input-evdev to disregard the BTN_TOOL_FINGER event, but I would only do that if you can't fix the kernel driver. ... No, the maXTouch chips are handled by atmel_mx_ts in drivers/input/touchscreen/atmel_mx_ts.c.
It's not even loading that driver. dmesg (from linux 3.1.5) says "generic-usb 0003:03EB:211C.0002: hiddev0,hidraw0: USB HID v1.11 Device [Atmel Atmel maXTouch Digitizer] on usb-0000:00:1d.0-1.5/input1
I'm sorry, but while I'm a programmer, I'm just a user when it comes to kernel and X11, so sorry for being stupid, but: Could you tell me exactly what I should do, please?
