Sorry to reply to myself, but I think I finally solved the problem.  My
main mistake was using the i810 driver in xorg.conf instead of the intel
driver.  I must have missed the memo. :)  Anyway, it looks like
http://www.intellinuxgraphics.org/man.html is a little out of date.

For posterity's sake, I should mention that I also installed the kernel,
libdrm, xorg-x11-server-Xorg, and xorg-x11-server-common packages from
Rawhide.
