The goal of my GSoC project is to decrease the latency of the cursor inside X server. What I'm pondering right now is how we can shortcut the path between the input and the hw cursor rendering -- which is already done inside DRM modesetting. This all will impact in the acceleration code [0] which would need to be done inside the kernel as well. However this is all in the ideal world where all drivers have their counterpart inside kernel...
