In the case of a remote desktop or a VM the virtual screen is likelyto be made of gum and you do want to change its virtual sizedynamically to have a 1:1 relationship between virtual and actualpixels.

This is exactly what won't work in a VM/hotplug/whatever context. Whatthe user said basically assumes a fixed dpi and/or physical size,which is not the reality. You absolutely do *not* want to trust theuser and have the system adapt auto-dynamically to changes.
