laptop lockup using silicon motion driver

Hi Folks,

Presently I'm having another attempt at getting Xorg running on my SM910 "Lynx" based laptop and am still having no joy - complete lockups (blank screen, no keyboard, no network) as observed at http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1975.

Currently I am using version 1.6.0 of the silicon motion driver with version 1.4.0.90 of the x server, however I've also tried silicon motion drivers versions 1.4.1 and 1.5.1 with Xorg 7.2 and version 1.3.1 of the silicon motion driver with Xorg 6.9 with exactly the same outcomes.

Have attached a log file from such an unsucessful attempt to start X to Bug#1975 from the most current combination above, but also have log files from the other ealier versions if these are of any assistance.

Any suggestions on how to get an accelerated X working on this laptop (yes VESA and FB drivers do work) or at least more precisely diagnose the source of the problem will be greatfully received.

Cheers

Rhys
