The graphic's drivers from Intel really on the VideoBIOS, which is (ofcourse?) not available on an EFI-Platform.
---------------------------------------------------------------------The X.org / XFree86 drivers for Intel and ATI hardware require a VideoBIOS to initialize the card. The Linux text console also relies on theVideo BIOS. Appleʼs firmware only provides a Video BIOS when booting inBIOS compatibility mode. Without it, you only get unaccellerated framebuffer graphics. ---------------------------------------------------------------------Source http://refit.sourceforge.net/myths/
---------------------------------------------------------------------Boot loader: Currently, you should use LILO and Boot Camp to boot Linux. The proprietary ATI drivers require a Video BIOS, and that is onlypresent when booted through Boot Camp. (The same applies to the Intelgraphics in the Mac mini.) It is still possible to boot with elilo, butyou'll only get unaccellerated 2D graphics (framebuffer).---------------------------------------------------------------------Source http://www.mactel-linux.org/wiki/Dual_Booting/
Of course Intel can say that's Apple's job because it is their hardware, but in fact (U)EFI is a development from Intel, the GMA-X3100 is adevelopment from Intel. Booth together should work on any supported OS,or?

How I said, I am a shell-user but nearly everyone needs today alsoOpenGL-Support under X11. And I don't understand, why just Inteldelivers only working drivers for OS X from Apple?

So I am now asking for the development for the next months :-)

PS: I hope I don't sound to angry.
