Hi, sorry if this question is already somewhere else

Question: "how to show job running inside solaris into linux and windows desktops"

I want to run an application from solaris 8 and work remotely in different platforms
( Linux desktops and windows XP desktops)

actually I know that I should forward display and fonts from the desktops toward the solaris server
but it is not working

I do the following:

1) from windows I use PUTTY with X11 forwarding and setting in that box "localhost:0", but I can not see the X application on my XP host

2) with Xming (also with X11 forwarding) from XP, but I can not connect eitherway

3) (putty)ssh to any linux Redhat 4.5 (from XP), setting display like " export DISPLAY=localhost:0.0" and then connecting
     to solaris remote (point to point) like:
                     ssh -l user -X -v  solaris-ip-number   (mean while I ssh to solaris as root and set :    xhost +localhost )
                     DISPLAY=localhost:0.0
                     export DISPLAY
                      < I run the X application>
                      (and actually is runnig but I can not see it on my desktop)

what do you suggest?

any ideas??

thanks in advance
