i have alaptop with a gma 950 connected to the lvds of course, and an external vga output, not connected. with xorg-server 1.2 the server started up right away, but with 1.3 the background gets lit, then gets dark after about half a second, then gets lit again and now X comes up. maybe it tries to connect to the vga output first, which it shouldn't of course. i have no monitor section in my xorg.conf. when i added one, the behaviour stayed the same and in the Xorg.0.log i saw that the monitor was set for the vga, but not for the lvds. can i somehow set the lvds as the primary output instead of the vga? i set the thinkpad display as primary device (other possibility was pci-e) and thinkpad lvds as primary boot display in the bios. there aren't any other options to select an output device. greetz -- Björn Martensen <bjoern.martensen@xxxxxxxxx>
