Could any body tell me how to change the default "pointer acceleration" value?

Hi, everyone

I have a problem on Redhat Enterprise edition. I cann't make my mouse
works properly except that change its "acceleration" value by " xset m 1".
But I cann't save this value. If logout or issue a command like"xset m
default", it changes back to 2 by default, then on the login screen, I
cann't manipulate it. So I want to change its default to 1. May I
ask is there a way to do this? Is there a conf-file I can modify to do
this?

I have tried the option "Resolution" "200" way, but it doesn't work.

Thanks very much.
