problems regarding XFree

Hello,
     This is yogesh working in a private firm,developing an X environment 
for custom made PMC board.but i not able to compile the XFree source.the 
following is the error displayed when i run XFree -configure

i get 2 error messages 
1)xf86OpenConsole: Cannot find a free VT
2)xf86OpenConsole: Cannot find /dev/tty0 (No such file or directory)

When reporting a problem related to a server crash, please send
the full server output, not just the last messages.
This can be found in the log file "/var/log/XFree86.0.log".

can you please tell what could be wrong and or am i missing something
