Radeon 9200 slow with Xfree86-4.4.0

Hi *,

Couldn't find anything helpful in Google.

I used to run 4.3.0 with a Radeon 9200 card (pretendign I had the
ChipId 0x514d) and decent performance. glxgears said something about
1500 fps.

When I upgraded to 4.4.0 (same hardware, Linux kernel), I noticed that
the desktop feels sluggish and glxgears comes up with a mere 500fps.

DRM is enabled.

  $ glxinfo
  name of display: :0.0
  display: :0  screen: 0
  direct rendering: Yes
  [...]

  $ /sbin/lsmod
  [...]
  radeon                106720   1
  agpgart                17268   1  (autoclean)
  [...]

Switching back to 4.3.0 gives me the good old performance.

The only things that looked funny to me in the 4.4.0 log file
(compared to the 4.3.0 log file ) were many references to PCI rather
than AGP:

(II) RADEON(0): initializing int10

Are the references to PCI correct? Shouldn't that be "agp" in most
places?

Any ideas how to fix that?

Thanks a lot,
Marcus
