Matrox G550 and acceleration

Hi,
I just upgraded my PC keeping only the graphic card, the monitor and the Boot HD.

First one for Linux: my W2k installation could not cope with the change.
Linux did ask me to OK a few questions and did cought up a bit at my new Logitec wireless USB
mouse, but all in all fell back on its feet.

Just a *problem* I lost the acceleration on my G550 card.
I seem to remember that I had had to install Matrox Linux driver in order to get it. I assume I
must simply edit XF86Config to tell it to use the Matrox driver.

Still I would be interested to know whether my assumption that the XFree86 driver is not
accelerated, and that I must use the Matrox driver for acceleration is still right.

Thanks in advance
Lionel
