Hi,
   I have been looking around for sometime for 3D acceleration support 
for ATI IGP340 but without luck.

I am currently using XFree86 Version 4.3.99.16 and this has 2D acceleration.

when I look at the log file, I see

(II) RADEON(0): Direct rendering disabled

This is a compaq presario 2100US laptop, running RH 9 and kernel 2.4.23.
