Using XFree86 4.3.0
Radeon 7000 ve
Sony CPD 100ES
This monitor supports 800x600 at 85Hz, and lists it in its table of VESA modes. I have a high sensitivity to flicker and need the higher refresh rate.
I used the xf86config utility and entered the correct mode ranges from the monitor manual. However, it seems that the system has used a refresh rate that is lower than 70. I get lots of flicker.
Is there a very simple way to force the monitor to use this video mode?
I used gtf and obtained a modeline for this refresh rate, but I'm not sure where to put it, and I'm hoping there is an easier way.
Thanks in advance.
