Huh? That message was a (nit-picky) response to my question about why the 1.1 license improves the situation vis-a-vis vendor compliance with licenses of contributed code. The GPL is not mentioned at all, and in fact the string "GPL" (ignoring case) doesn't appear in the message at all. I never answer anything "put to" me? I only found one question put to me, in the message: http://www.xfree86.org/pipermail/forum/2004-February/004061.html which I answered in the message (which is not shown as being part of the same thread, but in fact it is): http://www.xfree86.org/pipermail/forum/2004-February/004062.html As for why I don't ask the same questions of "my" x.org, I don't see the need to. In particular, I don't see anything thorny about the GLX license (more on this in a separate e-mail). Also, I am not a member of X.org, only an X user who happens to agree with them on this issue. However, speaking about non-responses to questions, how about: > OK, so how is a clause requiring distributors to give credit to XFree86 > going to satisfy the conditions in Joe Schmoe's copyright message, which > specifically requires that acknowledgement be given to Mr. Schmoe? which appears in: http://xfree86.org/pipermail/forum/2004-March/004205.html That was never answered. I can mention a few other significant questions which were left hanging, too. -- Paul Vojta, vojta@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx _______________________________________________ Forum mailing list Forum@xxxxxxxxxxx http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/forum
