and yet another license complaint | |

Hi all, like many others users and developers I would like to express my concern about the recent license change. The key issue is obviously that one cannot legally link GPL'ed software against some major parts of XFree anymore and I cannot think about a good reason for this situation. I'm not in the position to say which license is better in terms of "open source spirit" yet is is obvious that having incompatible licenses will cause more damage than benefit to the entire OSS community. On your frontpage you want users to tell their distros that "I want my XFree86 4.4., and I want it Now !!" - but what good should this be? A distro without a reasonable windowmanager? No KDE, no gnome, no windowmaker? Or what is the real way out of this situation? Ignore each others licenses?
