Not necessarily. You could give credit as the license requests, and if that's too much (and going by the xorg foundation tree et alia it obviously is) you could ask for the code you want to swipe to be re-licensed to you. This is what has been asked of us with the fbdev/ggi and gad knows what else projects....Why not share our pain?
