I don't understand this forum issue, i sent it to forum in the first place, did i not ? > Yes, that a good idea. I don't really think we want every list hit with this. Some people, who are not debian fanatics, think that this moot. Sorry Sven if I offended you, but you know how you guys get ;-) Well, first, you have to be aware, when you speak about debian fanatics, that i belive they are actually only a small bunch of people who you need to call fanatics, altough sadly, among them is the XFree86 package maintainer. Second, i don't think you can brush that aside like that. I believe there is a problem, real or imagined, but because of that, if things don't get solved, most distributions will resort to packaging the freedesktop.org xlibs, and simply forget about the XFree86 ones. I believe that this is not in the best interest of the XFree86 Project, which is why i opened this discussion here. And if there is no problem on this, then the XFree86 Project should make a statement about this, and bring the ball to the other camp to prove their claims. But i still believe that it is best that a proper solution is found and that everyone is happy. Still, i believe this whole issue is the result of some hidden politics, but please prove me wrong, if that is not so.
