[forum] Autodetection of monitors?

Hi,

Does anyone know if this is a planned feature for XFree86? I am currently 
using 4.2 so maybe it is already in 4.3? When I unplugged my monitor and 
plugged a new one in and rebooted the freequencies were out of range for the 
new monitor. It took me a long time to fix this. It seems to me though that 
XFree86 could probe the monotor for these frequencies instead of them being 
hard coded in the config file.

Anyone know anything about this?
