Thank you for the information, but I am somewhat confused. I am looking for documentation that tells me how to backup X Window System configuration files. I must admit I am just starting out on Linux and maybe what you provided is what I need but the XFree86 does not register with me. The CVS tag is "xf-4_2_99_3". Binaries for a few platforms will be available from our public ftp server: <ftp://ftp.xfree86.org/pub/XFree86/snapshots/4.2.99.3/binaries/> Currently Linux-ix86-glibc22 binaries are available. Documentation is available online at: <http://www.xfree86.org/4.2.99.3/>, but not all of it has been updated since 4.2.0. 4.2.99.3 has most of the features that will be present in 4.3.0. The main exception is several radeon driver updates, which will be available in a future snapshot.
