-------- Original Message -------- Subject: ZAxisMapping Granularity for an IBM NetVista USB Mouse From: <seniort5@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Wed, December 18, 2002 1:13 pm To: <xpert@xxxxxxxxxxx> Hello. First, the problem : I've been told that IBM made a hash of the NetVista USB mouse's scroll button implementation (which is a little joystick-style button on the top of the mouse), and that this is right place to come for a solution. Using a USB event reader I get the following type of output from this button : (Moving 'scroll' button up...) Event: time 1038686594.818629, type 2 (Relative), code 0 (X), value -1 Event: time 1038686594.858633, type 2 (Relative), code 8 (Wheel), value 63 Event: time 1038686594.858638, type 2 (Relative), code 2 (Z), value 19 Event: time 1038686594.882616, type 2 (Relative), code 0 (X), value 1 Event: time 1038686594.914619, type 2 (Relative), code 8 (Wheel), value 63 Event: time 1038686594.914624, type 2 (Relative), code 2 (Z), value 18 Event: time 1038686594.970610, type 2 (Relative), code 8 (Wheel), value 63 Event: time 1038686594.970615, type 2 (Relative), code 2 (Z), value 22 Event: time 1038686594.994601, type 2 (Relative), code 0 (X), value -1 Event: time 1038686595.026605, type 2 (Relative), code 8 (Wheel), value 63 Event: time 1038686595.026610, type 2 (Relative), code 2 (Z), value 16 Event: time 1038686595.082582, type 2 (Relative), code 8 (Wheel), value 63 Event: time 1038686595.082586, type 2 (Relative), code 2 (Z), value 16 Event: time 1038686595.138580, type 2 (Relative), code 8 (Wheel), value 63 Event: time 1038686595.138585, type 2 (Relative), code 2 (Z), value 24 Event: time 1038686595.194561, type 2 (Relative), code 8 (Wheel), value 63 (Moving 'scroll' button down...) Is this correct? I use KDE 3.0 and it only allows to you set a minimum of one line scrolling per wheel event (correct?) and it looks like I need about 0.1 or something thereabouts? Has anybody got any suggestions? P.S. I'd like to look back through the mailing list to find similar problems but I don't know where it is or how to do this. Could somebody please let me know. Many thanks. Ben _______________________________________________ Xpert mailing list Xpert@xxxxxxxxxxx http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/xpert
