talk to XFree86 input module,Please help!

Hi,list!
   I need to send some msg to a XI module,That is,when I calibrated my 
serial-touchscreen,the calibraten can only take effort after re-startx,But I 
want to let it happen immediately.
   Does someone can give me any advice to do this job?Are there some docs 
or paper on it?
