problems with i845

I have a dell dimension 2300 (2.4 GHz, Intel chipset 845). I have installed mandrake 9.0 but I can start  X windows at a resolution of 800x600 16 bit.

If I try to start X windows at a resolution higher than 800x600 the error message is: no screen found. 

 

What can I do to make x windows run at an higher resolution?
