Can you tell me exactly how you fixed the libfontconfig.so.1
problem? What was the exact cp command that you issued? I have tried to compile
CVS from source on my Dell Latitude C400 using Mandrake 9 and got the same
error, but can’t figure out how to fix it. (RH8 worked fine, but I have
other problems with broken keymaps in RH.) You wrote: For the record, and for anyone who is struggling withthis chipset, I have i830MG working nicely on a Vaio R600HMPD. All that was required is:1) Compile a (vanilla) 2.4.19 kernel. Install.2) Download and compile the XFree86 CVS trunk.Install.I then had the problem that the XServer could not findlibfontconfig.so.1. I've solved that by copying all of the modules from the exports directory into /usr/X11R6/lib. Could anyone confirm if that was wise? What was the exact command? Thanks and best wishes, Jim |
