Xterms Maximized on VNC

Hi,

I use VNC as follows:
(linux) vncserver :1 -geometry 1280x1024, (1280x1024 is the resolution
of my windows machine), and then
(windows) vncviewer :1
to connect to the same. Now the issue is that if I open my Xterms as
xterm -maximized, then I see xterms outside the viewable area of my
desktop. In that case, I have to manually reduce the xterms every
time. Is there a way around? Can I open xterms fit enough only for the
viewable area of my screen?
