Problem with "Much TV Cardbus" (Philips SAA7134 chipset)

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hello!

I've got a problem with my "Much TV Cardbus" from www.itemstech.com.tw .
It has a label:
Much TV Cardbus
PHILIPS SAA7134
<BarScanCode>
IT0252005032354

Yast identifies it as a "SAA7134", but no channels can be found - all is
black.

I'm running SuSe 9.3 distribution (64 bit) on an amd 64 notebook.

The log in /var/log/messages shows:

When I try different settings for "card" and "tuner" with Yast the "find
chanel" feature yields an error:
translation from german: Unable to load kernel-module for tv-support.
sh: "card":"1", "tuner":"5": syntax error: operand expected (error token
is: ""card":"1","tuner":"5"")

If I clear these settings (tuner/card) it gives no error just, does not
find any channels.

I am unsure how to proceed, to try all combinations of card/tuner won't
work I guess (maybe I'm doing something wrong elsewhere ...)
Is it a good idea to try the find channel feature of Yast? Or should I
rather use e.g. XawTV and try after every change?

If anyone has an idea I would be very happy - please give me detailed
instructions (because in this field I am very new).

Thanks in advance!
Alexander
