have an idea.  He will need to know the chipset and imager in that 
device for starters.

I've discussed the possibility of doing the clock stopping trick on 
one of those webcams in order to capture long time exposures, but 
AFAIK nothing much has been done yet.  This is of course not a cheap 
webcam, but the access protocols framework is probably similar if it 
has a firewire or usb interface use to extract the video.

Do a google search for the spca5xx drivers and his name and email 
address should be available in one of the hits.  Max Xhard or 
something quite like that.
