Hello
I hope that you can help me. I have been a linux user for some time but
have not tried to do anything with video before.
I have a 2200+ Athlon running Fedora Core 3
I have a video capture card, EasyMaker that has a saa7130
The hardware browser says it is using Driver saa7134
If I hook my cam corder to the card, I can watch just fine with tvtime.
I want to be able to record the various video clips from my cam corder
and bur to DVD.
I started to try to use freevo and their mailing list said that it
wasn't the right tool ans suggested mencoder.
mencoder mailing list said to try mplayer with a command like this:
mplayer tv:// -tv driver=v4l
The following is the results that I get:
# mplayer tv:// -tv driver=v4l
MPlayer 1.0pre6-3.4.2 (C) 2000-2004 MPlayer Team

Setting up LIRC support...

Failed to open LIRC support.
You will not be able to use your remote control.
Playing tv://
TV detected!
No such driver: v4l
Exiting... (End of file)
I have tried v4l2 as the driver with the same results. I am under the
impression that the saa7134 driver is the v4l driver that mplayer says
isn't there.
I have been searching for the answers for a while now, off and on, and
am not getting to the root of the problem. When I came across your
address on a v4l page I hope that you can send me in the correct direction.
Thanks in advance
David Miller
