One last question for a while. I think I've stood on the shoulders of
giants enough after this one. :)
I need to encode two different files from the same video source - One high
quality, one low quality. I'm not so concerned with the codec (although
there's a strong desire to use the windows media codecs from some of my
associates.)
I've been struggling with this for a while, and I'm not sure if I know the
answer. The idea I was playing with was encoding to a high bitrate file,
and then using "transcode" to downsample it once the high quality encoding
is done. I'm not so sure if I like this solution (mostly due to my complete
inability to get transcode working how I'd like) and I was wondering if
anyone had any input into this.
The ideal situation would be to somehow proxy the video/audio stream so that
both formats could be encoded simultaneously, as I have CPU cycles to spare.
Thanks in advance,
Michael Jackson
