Re: PixelView PlayTV MPEG2/TVision TVF5533MF Tuner

  Hello.

Had any progress with this card?

Opening the tuner cover I could see a reference for "TNF8533", which I
suppose is the tuner model. YMEC has no reference for it in their website
(that I could find..).

I had the same problem with the I2C tuner address detection (did not check
the electronics to discover it, just Windows registry for the Telsignal
drivers :)). I "solved" the problem in FreeBSD by altering the probing order,
then it is correctly detected at C2 when first probed there, else it was
detected at C0, dunno why... Couldn't figure how to properly get the same
effect in Linux 2.6 (i.e. preserve all probing but trying the correct/likely
one first).

The TV tuner that works for me on FreeBSD is referred as ALPS_TSBH1 in
bktr(4)<http://www.daemon-systems.org/man/bktr.4.html>, not a "Philips" one.
I still don't have TV sound nor tried messing much with FM, just taking a
break of it for a while. Maybe the Linux bttv drivers work fully, as they
seem to have more hardware support.

I'd like to have the tuner specs/datasheet, if you get them and feel like
and is allowed to send them over. :) (most other components seem to have
publicly available datasheets)
