The Red Butte Lookout reports good visibility today. The fire is just northeast of the lookout. Overnight, smoke drifted south down Rain Tank Wash and lifted this morning by 8:00 a.m.
Three engines are assigned to the incident. Personnel are working on the southern edge of the fire today, igniting in select locations to maintain desirable fire intensity and rate of spread.
The Woodbridge Fire, 18 miles east of Tusayan, remains about 1,000 acres with little fire activity or growth reported.
There are no closures associated with these fires; however, if you are traveling on the Tusayan Ranger District, please be cautious of personnel and equipment working on and near roads around the fires.
