Planned Prescribed Fires for today and
Tuesday, April 27-28:
All prescribed fire activity is dependant
on weather, crew availability, and approval from the Arizona Department
of Environmental Quality (www.azdeq.gov).
Today, crews plan to conduct a broadcast
burn on the A1-Project – Approximately 300 acres located on top
of Observatory Mesa, northwest of Flagstaff. Smoke should move north
east with today’s winds, some residual smoke may briefly linger around
the north and western edges of Flagstaff during the evening and early morning
hours, but should be light.
Pending favorable conditions, fire managers
are planning on the following projects for tomorrow:
Fort Valley Project off Snow Bowl
Road and Freidlein Prairie Road.
Lake Mary Project west of Upper Lake
Mary
The Forest's prescribed fire activity is
