Re: Old kernel and new USB modem

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi
Yes this is what I thought.
But still I do not know if I shall use acm or usbserial as driver.
At the moment I load usbserial in rc.modules:
/sbin/modprobe usbserial vendor=0x0bdb product=0x101b

Hotplug ties usbserial to /dev/ttyUSB0. I can open, but not communicate
with the device by either minicom or cu.

Attaching the device gives:
Nov 14 16:35:38 inget kernel: usb.c: USB disconnect on device 3
Nov 14 16:35:38 inget kernel: usbserial.c: Generic converter now
disconnected from ttyUSB0
Nov 14 16:35:41 inget kernel: hub.c: USB new device connect on bus2/1,
assigned device number 4
Nov 14 16:35:41 inget kernel: usbserial.c: Generic converter detected
Nov 14 16:35:41 inget last message repeated 2 times
Nov 14 16:35:41 inget kernel: usbserial.c: Generic converter now
attached to ttyUSB0 (or usb/tts/0 for devfs)
Nov 14 16:35:45 inget kernel: usb.c: registered new driver acm
Nov 14 16:35:45 inget kernel: usbserial.c: Generic converter detected
Nov 14 16:35:45 inget kernel: usbserial.c: Generic converter detected
Nov 14 16:35:45 inget kernel: acm.c: v0.21:USB Abstract Control Model
driver for USB modems and ISDN adapters

my usb.usermap has one entry:
ericsson 0x0003 0x0bdb 0x101b 0x0000 0x0000 0x0000 0x02 0x00 0x00
          0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00000000
