You don't want to change the USB configuration -- if you did, the device 
wouldn't work at all!

You want to change the input configuration.  I don't know how you go about 
that, but you can ask on the Input mailing list:

	linux-input@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
