I started with vanilla 2.6.17, and patched up to 2.6.19, using the "working" config from FC4. I never saw the problem. Then I built 2.6.19 with the config from FC6, and the problem came back. After a whole bunch of compiles to work out which configuration difference causes the problem, it looks like the problem occurs when CONFIG_HZ=1000, but not when CONFIG_HZ=250. I know that contradicts my last message. I'm going to repeat the tests until I'm absolutely certain that this is the only change required to fix/trigger the problem, but I'm mostly certain that this is it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
