can not modprobe g_serial

Hi all,

I have a problem with gadget_serial on a arm PXA255-board. Kernel 
version is 2.6.20.1

I did the following:

mknod /dev/ttygserial c 127 0
modprobe g_serial

loading of the module fails in gs_module_init() with the following error 
message:

gs_module_init: cannot register tty driver, ret=-16


What am i missing here?
