I am running tux / apache on a bank of about 12 webservers that serve the bulk or their content from NFS mounted NetApp volumes. I added tux in front of the Apache server about 2 weeks back and it has reduced the load and improved responsiveness. I have no benchmarks or hard numbers, though.
