I have been trying to isolate some complaints from my users of a high-load
website, what sometimes (about 0.001 percent), downloads of large files fail
while the client downloading the file (by internet explorer) reports that
the file has been downloaded successfully (the file downloaded is actually
shorter then the original). i have confirmed that this doesn't happen when i
use apache. is this the simptom of what you see ?

unfortunatelly, i cannot help you with debugging, not enough knowlege.
