Darkstat is another good program...and ntop is quite stable now and 
doesn't use a lot of CPU like the earlier versions.  Be sure to read the 
docs so that you start and stop the daemon with the option to save the 
previous sessions data.  This goes for darkstat and ntop.

This program doesn't save data yet, but the developers mentioned it would 
in upcoming releases but it is quite helpful.
