Thanks again.  I will look over my OS and see what's there.

I was able to get the Firewire card recognized in WIN 98SE, but it 
wouldn't speak to the Polaroid Scanner.  Polaroid explained this has 
something to do with there not being a certain driver available.

Somehow, Nikon got around this by patching something from ME, as I 
understand it.  It might be that a Scanner driver within WIN 98SE is 
required which isn't written, and that other Firewire product work just 
fine.
