I don't think PNG is superior to JPEG, especially not JPEG 2000. I believe it was primarily designed as a replacement for GIF, since the patent holder on GIF suddenly woke up after years and decided to demand money from everyone who was using it. I always use TWAIN to scan into Photoshop, so the format ends up being whatever I save it in from there. -- Ciao, Paul D.
