canon fs2710 and moving from win98

I have a Canon FS2710 and Win98 on my computer.
Been thinking of upgrading to a newer machine.
But Canon's website says that the 2710 is not supported by XP.
I don't know how many people that would make unhappy but I am sure there are 
a few!

Anyone heard of any plans for them to support WinXP for the 2710 (SCSI 
interface).

I don't want to buy a new scanner (I am happy with this one) but I do want to 
buy a new computer and I probably won't get one with Win98.
