I hope you have body guards figured into that website budget ;-)

For anyone who doesn't know Phil, I would like to make you aware of a
few pieces of background info.

I've only "met" Phil via the internet, however, we've "bumped" into one
another for years now. Phil has been working with and selling high end
professional scanners (both drum and top end CCD) and working with their
software development for many years now. He was one of, if not the first
person I corresponded with regarding my concerns about scanner quality
versus manufacturer's specifications when I first started using consumer
or prosumer grade scanners. He was always candid and helpful, and he
was the first person I knew of to take these concerns to both the
manufacturers and to the professional scanning public by offering
seminars at professional trade shows and meetings, and he has been
working on devising and developing objective methods and tools in order
to evaluate scanners of many models and makes.

I am very much looking forward to the unveiling of his website, as I am
sure it will reveal a great deal of useful information and provide a
resource that will be helpful to anyone looking into the purchase of a
scanner. Knowing Phil's long term commitment to inform buyers of what
they can expect to be purchasing, I'm sure we will all benefit from his
efforts.
