There is the Yahoo group: ScanHi-End@yahoogroups.com

It is very active and full of people who seem to have a great deal of knowledge.

There are also several brand specific groups (like Imacon etc.), although I
don't have those addresses.  There is also a scanner group in the UK, but we had
some sort of internet conflict with that one, and could never connect.  A Google
search should find it.
